The first full trailer for the new Marvel show Jessica Jones was released a couple of weeks ago, and now a second look at the upcoming Netflix production has arrived. Check it out here:
The 13-part show stars Breaking Bad's Krysten Ritter as a failed superhero who has abandoned the crimefighting life to become a private detective in Hell's Kitchen, New York. This new trailer provides more footage of Carrie-Anne Moss as attorney Jeri Hogarth, and David Tennant, playing the mind-controlling villain Kilgrave. Other stars include Mike Colter as the similarly superpowered Luke Cage, and Rachael Taylor as Jessica's friend Trish Walker.
Last month, Colter--who will be getting his own Netflix show in 2016--spoke about his approach to playing Luke Cage. "I look at it like, you're not doing yourself any favors if you start reading the comics and try to figure out how to build the character from just that," he told Comicbook.com. "Ultimately, the fanbase, fan's ideas or perceptions of the character won't serve you, as an actor, trying to figure this character out. They cast you for a reason, so you have to look at it from that standpoint: what is it about you, what have they seen, what is the essence of the character and how can you anchor yourself in that?"
Colter also provided a few hints about what the Luke Cage show would involve. "We're already shooting," he confirmed. "Basically, Luke Cage will take place a few months after Jessica Jones. So in real time, if you watch Jessica Jones, you'll find [at the end] Luke Cage uptown in Harlem, working, trying to make ends meet. He's tending bar, he's bouncing around. And for good reason, he's a fugitive, he has some skeletons in his closet. He's trying to basically stay off the radar. The people he hangs around with, though, are in need."
Season one of Jessica Jones will hit Netflix on November 20, 2015.
